Famous Gambian Artiste Kombonka wins Multiple-Awards

The King of Manding Rap, alias Kombonka, has been named the Hip-Hop Artist of The Year at the recently concluded ‘Wah Sa Halat Music Awards’ held on Saturday, 26th November 2022 at Paradise Suites Hotel, The Gambia.
As the wind of excitement of the biggest night in Gambian music and entertainment is blowing intermittently, the WMA- ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2021 goes to Kombonka for winning the Album of The Year. Kombonka’s debut album, Yalong Ngalong, makes name for the Manding Rap King as his music continues to grow nationally and internationally. In addition to this award, Kombonka was also awarded the RAP &HIP POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR.
Kombonka is one of the biggest names right now in the Gambian rap music industry. Many Gambian music lovers in fact believe that Kombonka is the new GOAT of Gam-Rap. He won the Ra-Hi-Hop Artiste of The Year award without Gambian ST winning a single award at the event.
Famous Gambian artiste, ATTACK also won almost all the awards at the maiden WMA becoming the Artiste of The Year, People’s Choice, and several other notable awards. Abdoulie Gaye, AKA ATTACK, has defamed the Gambia’s Brikama Boyo to become the face of Gambian music.
Furthermore, talented young Gambian artiste, Uchee was named the New Artiste of The Year; Nayncho Aka Apachaky was named the Best Afro-Fusion Artiste of The Year; A2 The Fulani King was named the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of The Year; Hussein Dada Aka Bad Boy Dada, was named the Event of The Year, while Pa Salieu was named the Foreign-Based Artiste of the Year.
