Kombonka’s music blends the local Senegambian instruments and rhythms with hip-hop and its subgenres, such as trap and drill. His first album, Yalong Ngalong, landed him more than 15,000 fans across the world. The album also won the Album of the Year in 2022, as well as Best Hip Hop Artist of the Year. Aside from the album, which was inspired by his backway journey song “Silakang,” it also discusses the daily struggles of African youth. However, there are a few songs to lighten up the mood and
keep listeners on their feet.
The album’s first single, “Muneh Ya Tinya,” was released in January 2023 with visuals already making waves on the radio, Tv, and in the streets. A second single from the album “Kanasong” was also released subsequently with an unusual visual, which is also trending quite well.
